Snorkeling can happen right here in West Virginia!
Friends of the Cacapon River is partnering with the US Forest Service to host a stream snorkeling adventure in the Cacapon River!
Fish, turtles, crayfish, insects, snails, mussels, and invertebrates thrive in clear, clean rivers like the Cacapon! See creatures face-to-face in thetir own underwater world is an amazing way to appreciate their diverse and fragile aquatic ecosystems.
After all, it’s our shared role in protecting them. Without clear water, we cannot snorkel!
This activity allows people to explore beneath the surface while horizontally rock climbing in shallow water looking for fish and other water creatures. Minimum age to participate is 6. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Snorkel gear will be provided.
Packing List: swim suit/clothes, water, snacks, water shoes, towel, dry change of clothes
